BellaBlast Off for a Cure - Children's Cancer Fundraising Gala

To raise funds for research into Neuroblastoma.

What is Neuroblastoma?

Neuroblastoma is the most common solid cancerous tumour found in young children.

Close to 50% of Neuroblastoma cases occur in children 2 years old and younger. In Australia approximately 50 children are diagnosed each year.

In children suffering with the more aggressive tumour, the harder it is to treat with the survival rates of only 40%.

Lyn and Rob Webster’s grand-daughter, Isabella White (pictured) was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2011 at just 20 months old, and is still undergoing treatment. The diagnosis was devastating and Isabella’s family soon came to realise that further knowledge was needed around the cause and treatment of this terrible disease.

With the help of close family and friends, Lyn and her daughters Sarah (Bella's mother) and Eliza have formed a committee: “Blast Off for a Cure”.

The Blast off for a Cure committee raises funds for neuroblastoma research. This April, they will be hosting a fundraising Gala Event in Quirindi, NSW. Proceeds from the evening will be going to the Sydney’s Children Hospital, Centre for Cancer and Blood Disorders who currently have 4 clinical neuroblastoma trials underway.
